VOCCME #6 Registration Information

The VOCCME #6 is presented by the Georgia Osteopathic Medical Association (GOMA), the Maine Osteopathic Association (MOA), the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS), the Montana Osteopathic Medical Association (MOMA), the North Carolina Osteopathic Medical Association (NCOMA), the Ohio Osteopathic Association (OOA), the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California (OPSC), the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of Oregon (OPSO), the Tennessee Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA), and the Washington Osteopathic Medical Association (WOMA). This conference offers up to 48 CME credits of AOA Category 1-A Credit and AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ in a flexible format.

VOCCME #6 General Information

Flexibility:

The VOCCME #6 is all about flexibility! You have the flexibility to choose:

  • When to attend: All programs will be available on-demand as soon as the VOCCME #6 launches on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 9:00 AM CST through June 30, 2026.  Take in a presentation before you go to the office, and another in the middle of the night - it is your choice!
  • Where to attend: You can view from anywhere you have internet access – at your home, at the lake, at a ski resort, at your office, or all of the above.
  • What to attend: You can customize the program for your needs by selecting any of the 48 presentations in the VOCCME #6.
  • How much to attend: You select the credit category that works for you…but when you see more presentations you want to take (and we know you will!), you can increase it to another level by calling the MAOPS office, and we will honor the increased credit discount. 
  • Credit type: The VOCCME #6 presentations are accredited for both AOA and AMA category 1 credit. It will work for you, no matter how you are boarded.

On-Demand:
The VOC
CME #6 will launch on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 9:00 AM CST.  All 48 VOCCME #6 presentations will be on-demand and will be available through midnight PST on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.  

Credit Options:

Registrants can choose from various credit level categories for this virtual conference in 8-credit increments.  You choose which presentations you want to complete on-demand.  If, after your initial purchase, you would like to increase to a higher credit level category, we will honor the discounted pricing. To purchase additional credits in 8-credit increments, please call MAOPS at 573-634-3415.

If you complete more programs than you purchase per the credit category you registered for, you will have the ability to purchase a higher-level credit category, and we will honor the discounted rate. If you do not purchase a higher-level credit category, then we will remove completed programs starting with the most recently completed program and work backwards to get to the credit amount and category you purchased. Example: If you purchased 16 credits, but completed 20 credits, we will remove the last 4 programs you completed to get your account to the 16 credits you purchased.

Rates:
Member vs. Non-Member Rates – To take advantage of "Member Prices" for this conference, you must be a member of one of the ten partner associations listed above. Membership will be verified with each partnering association. If you pay the member rate, and you are not a member of one of the ten partner associations, you must either join one of these ten state associations to get the member rate or pay the difference between the member rate you paid and the higher non-member rate before your CME certificate is made available to you!

Refund/Cancelation Policy
VOCCME #6 registrations made before May 31, 2026, can be canceled within 30 days of the purchase date for a refund of 80% of the registration fee. Please note: no refunds will be granted once one or more programs have been launched.  To cancel a registration, call the MAOPS office at 573-634-3415.

Ricardo Azziz, MD's Profile

Dr. Ricardo Azziz is a physician, educator, scientist, and executive with over 25 years of leadership experience in higher education, research, and academic health. He serves as Principal of Tellurian Global, LLC, and provides management and strategic consulting services to the healthcare, biotechnology, and higher education & academic industries. He's also the Principal of Strategic Partnerships in Higher Education (SPH) Consulting Group. Dr. Azziz is also the Executive Director of the Foundation for Research and Education Excellence and the Director of the Center of Higher Education Mergers & Acquisitions (CHEMA). He is also on the faculty of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of Albany, SUNY.

Dr. Azziz served as President of the Georgia Health Sciences University (GHSU) and was then tasked with creating the state's only public academic health center, serving as founding CEO of the Georgia Regents Health System (GRHS, now Augusta University Health System). He then led the successful consolidation of GHSU and Augusta State University to create Georgia Regents University (GRU, now August University), serving as founding President.

Dr. Azziz received his medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Dr. Azziz then completed his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland, in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. Dr. Azziz earned his Master of  Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Azziz is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is also a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Azziz is a sought-after thought leader in higher education, a successful clinical & translational researcher. He has served in many roles as an executive leader and has had numerous professional appointments as a faculty member and scholar. Dr. Azziz also has numerous appointments to regional, national, and international boards and other entities. He was on the guideline development group for Monash University, which helped develop the International Evidence-Based Guidelines for the Assessment and Management of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. He received the PCOS Challenge International Researcher of Influence Award in 2022, as well as many other awards throughout his career. He has authored more than 500 publications, with a research focus on biomedical sciences. He is a recognized expert in female reproductive disorders, particularly androgen excess and polycystic ovary syndrome.

Dr. Azziz is an accomplished visual artist. He primarily creates pen-and-ink drawings in the surrealist style of the 20th century. He is married and has three kids.

Dr. Logan Banks is a Medical Missionary who has been living in East Africa for the past 10 years. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine with Hope Africa University in Burundi. He and his family recently moved to Kenya, where he serves as a campus physician for Rift Valley Academy, a missionary boarding school outside of Nairobi, Kenya.

Dr. Banks is a graduate of A.T. Still University - Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at CoxHealth (COV FMR) in Springfield, Missouri. In 2010, he completed a fellowship in International Family Medicine at Via Christi in Wichita, Kansas. He also completed a fellowship in Obstetrics at CoxHealth. After five years on faculty at Cox FMR, Dr. Banks and his family responded to a call to missions. They moved to Burundi, where he joined the clinical faculty of Hope Africa University by teaching at the rural site, Kibuye Hope Hospital. Dr. Banks is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Carli Beyer is currently working on her fellowship in Geriatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center Geriatrics Fellowship Program, Kansas City, Kansas. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology a Avila University, Kansas City, Missouri. In 2021, she completed her Doctor of Osteopathy degree at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Beyer then completed her residency in Family Medicine at the Methodist Charlton Medical Center Family Medicine Residency in Dallas, Texas. She was Chief Resident in 2023-2024, where she coordinated schedules and residency requirements for all residents. Dr. Beyer is board-certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Beyer received the Outstanding Resident Teacher of the Year Award in 2023-2024. She received numerous awards during her time at Kansas City University and during her residency training. She is a member of several professional associations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Geriatrics Society, the Psi Sigma Alpha National Osteopathic Honor Society, the American Osteopathic Association, and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

Dr. Beyer likes to travel, read, and play the piano in her spare time. She started playing the piano at five years old and participated in competitive piano for ten years.

Dr. Kaitlin Bowers is Chair of Emergency Medicine and an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lillington, North Carolina. She is also an Emergency Medicine physician with Wake Emergency Physicians, PA. Dr. Bowers received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, where she received the honor of Outstanding Emergency Medicine Resident of the Year, awarded by the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians.  

Dr. Bowers' interests include undergraduate medical education, simulation, and match rates. She is the creator and Editor in Chief of Med Student Over Easy, a more than medicine podcast designed for medical students with an interest in Emergency Medicine. She also serves as Lead Editor for the blog Academic Life in Emergency Medicine.

Andrew Bright, DO's Profile

Dr. Andrew Bright is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, Mobile, Alabama. He also serves as a Critical Care and Burn Surgeon, and he directs the Burn Program at USA Health. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Mathematics from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2000. He then completed his medical degree at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Lewisburg, West Virginia, where his passion for surgery began.

Dr. Bright began his surgical training with an internship at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he had the honor of caring for wounded soldiers, sailors, and Marines. He then served for two years as a U.S. Naval physician with the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, who were deployed twice to the Middle East. He completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in 2014, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society in recognition of excellence in clinical care, compassion, and service. Following residency, Dr. Bright was recommissioned in the U.S. Navy and served as a general surgeon. During this time, he deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan, where he worked in a multinational trauma hospital and was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal for meritorious service. Upon returning stateside, Dr. Bright completed a Surgical Critical Care and Burn fellowship at the  University of South Alabama Medical Center, with an emphasis in burn care.

Dr. Bright is board-certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the American Burn Association, and the Southern Medical Association. He is also a certified instructor in several key trauma and burn education programs, including Stop the Bleed, Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Advanced Surgical Skills for Exposure in Trauma (ASSET).

Dr. Bright, in addition to his burn-specific research, has participated in numerous trauma and critical care studies. He volunteers annually with the Christian Medical Ministry at Kibogora Hospital in Rwanda, where he works alongside PAACS surgeons and local staff, mentoring students and residents while learning with and from the Rwandan surgical team through close collaboration.

Dr. Wynde Cheek received her medical degree from Des Moines University-College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. She completed her traditional medicine internship and residency in Neurology at Grandview Hospital Medical Center (now Kettering Health Dayton) in Dayton, Ohio, where she was Chief Resident. As the owner of a solo practice, she combines her clinical skills and knowledge with outreach programs to promote osteopathic principles at the regional, national, and international levels. She also shares her passion for medicine as an adjunct professor at Touro University's Montana Campus in Great Falls, Montana. She has an emphasis on rural and underserved practices.

Dr. Cheek is President-Elect of the Montana Osteopathic Medical Association, a past-president of the American College of Neuropsychiatrists/American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists, is active in many specialty societies, and is an alumna of the national Osteopathic Health Policy Fellowship.

David Clark, DO's Profile

Dr. David Clark is an Assistant Professor of Neurology, the Chair of the Neurology Department, and the Neurology Discipline Lead at Western University of Health Sciences in Lebanon, Oregon. He is also a Neurologist at Oregon Neurology in Springfield, Oregon, where he focuses on treating Neuro-Ophthalmology and Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Clark received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University. Dr. Jonathan Cleaver graduated from A.T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri, in 2008. He completed his residency training in Dermatology and his Mohs Surgical fellowship at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri. He then joined his father's practice in 2012. He practices General Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery at Cleaver Dermatology, Kirksville, Missouri.

Dr. Cleaver is a past President of the Missouri Dermatological Society and a member of the Board of Trustees for A.T. Still University.  He is also the Surgical Director and on faculty for the dermatology residency training program at Northeast Regional Medical Center. Dr. Andrew Dawson is in private practice and co-owns Hope Headache and Neurology in Wentzville, Missouri, with his partner, Dr. Divya Sivakumar. He was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Dawson's route to medicine is a unique one. After graduating from Hazelwood Central High School, he headed to the University of Missouri in St. Louis, where he earned his Bachelor's in Music Education. After graduation, Dr. Dawson taught strings at McCluer High School and also stack to students from grades 4 to 12. While teaching, the science bug hit him, and he started attending St. Louis University, where he earned his Master's in Organic Chemistry. He then attended medical school at A.T. Still University - Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri. Dr. Dawson did his Neurology residency at Michigan State University at Garden City Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where he was Chief Resident. He trained under the esteemed neurologist Dr. Anne Pawlak. He then completed a fellowship at the acclaimed Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, where he focused on headache neurology. Dr. Dawson is board-certified in Neurology by the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry, and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Scott Drew is a board-certified dermatologist practicing in Marion, Ohio, since 1992. He is a graduate of A.T. Still University of Health Sciences (Now known as A.T. Still University - Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine) in Kirksville, Missouri. He completed his rotating internship at Normandy Hospitals in St. Louis, Missouri, a residency in Family Practice in Stratford, New Jersey, and a residency in Dermatology at Deaconess Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Drew is board-certified in Dermatology by the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. He is the Vice President for dermatologic services for Power of a Nickel, an organization coupling international medical outreach with international medical student education. Locally, he works with Hispanic Charities in Marion, Ohio, and has served on the local boards of the YMCA, Rotary International, and United Way.

Dr. Drew believes in the power of education. He serves on the Board of Trustees for his alma mater, A.T. Still University, having completed three terms as its chair. He provides mission and vision supervisory guidance to its two medical schools, two dental schools, the school of allied health professionals, and the college of graduate studies. He was instrumental in the foundation of the Global Health Scholars fellowship program, funding scholarships for diverse populations. He also serves on the Board of Directors for his alma mater, Bishop McNamara High School, in Forestville, Maryland, helping them partner with a sister Holy Cross school in Gulu, Uganda.

Dr. Drew and his wife have two adult children, Delaney and Danny. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family & friends, traveling, and history.

William Elliott, MD, PhD's Profile

Dr. William Elliott is a distinguished Professor of Preventative Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pharmacology, the Head of the Division of Pharmacology, and the Chair of the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima, Washington. He received hid Bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame and then earned his M.D. and Ph.D. in Bio-Organic Chemistry from the University of Chicago, in Illinois. Dr. Elliott completed his fellowship in Pharmacology in the Department of Pharmacology – Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Elliott is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, in Clinical Pharmacology by the American Board of Clinical Pharmacology, and in Hypertension by the American Board of Hypertension Specialists.  

Dr. Elliott served as a member of the faculty at the University of Chicago from 1985 - 1992. He then served the next 17 years on the faculty in a variety of roles at RUSH Medical College, Chicago, Illinois. In 2008, he started his career as a Professor at the Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences, where he remains today.

Dr. Elliott is one of the inaugural "Specialists in Clinical Hypertension" and is a Fellow of the American Society of Hypertension. He contributed to five topics on the Sixth Report of the Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Pressure (JNC VI), as well as to the "long version" of JNC 7. He has authored more than 250 published abstracts, 28 Letters to the Editor, 160 peer-reviewed publications, 190 book chapters, and one book review.  

Dr. Elliott belongs to many professional societies interested in clinical pharmacology and hypertension, including fellowship in the American Heart Association's Council on High Blood Pressure Research. He has lectured on five continents, participated in the review process for many journals, societies, national board examinations, study sections, and funding agencies, and served as Editor or Co-Editor for many books, monographs, and symposia. Dr. Elliott's most valued honors are thirty-nine awards for teaching excellence from 1974 – 2025.

Dr. Craig Kubik graduated from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York, with a degree in biology. Dr. Kubik worked as a Respiratory Therapy Technician for the Genesee Hospital in Rochester, New York, and then entered medical school in 1981, earning a degree at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York, in 1985. Dr. J. Michael Wieting is the Senior Associate Dean at Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee. He is also a professor of Physician Medicine and Rehabilitation and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. Dr. Wieting is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Osteopathic Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is also board-certified in Preventative Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Preventative Medicine and as a Medical Examiner by the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.

Dr. Wieting graduated from medical school with his Doctor of Osteopathy from Oklahoma State University – College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinics in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dr. Megan Wood (Vanderlinde) is currently practicing Diabetes and Endocrinology/Weight Management at Probst Medical Wellness Center in Saint Louis, Missouri. Dr. Wood received her medical degree from the University of Sint Eustatius School of Medicine in Sint Eustatius, Netherlands. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and her fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Dr. Wood provides consultations and follow-ups for a range of hormonal issues and endocrine disorders. She is sensitive to the uniqueness of each case and adapts her treatment plans to accommodate individual needs and concerns. Dr. Wood has expertise in treating arthritis, hypertension & high blood pressure, diabetes, among other conditions.

Dr. Wood has three children and two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys attending sporting events, including baseball, football, volleyball, and wrestling. Dr. Cyndi Worden received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Washington. She then graduated from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California. She completed her residency in Family Practice at Downey Regional Medical Center in Downey, California. She then returned to the Northwest to launch her medical practice in 2007 at Creekside Family Practice in Happy Valley, Oregon. She practiced integrative family medicine there for ten years. Eager to focus on Functional Medicine, she opened Bloom Functional Medicine in Gladstone, Oregon, in 2018. She received her certification in Functional Medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine in 2016. Dr. Worden is board-certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Osteopathic Family Physicians and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Physician Specialties. She is also a certified Practitioner in Functional Medicine by the Institute for Functional Medicine.

As a mother of two young boys, Dr. Worden has first-hand experience with the many challenges families face. She understands it can be difficult to provide healthy food for the whole family while finding time for self-care and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. 

In her free time, Dr. Worden loves to spend time with her family and friends. She also enjoys reading, skiing, kayaking, hiking, cooking, and traveling.
