Jared Salvo, DO
Dr. Jared Michael Salvo is a board-certified clinical cardiac electrophysiologist and cardiologist, and the President and Owner of Kern Cardiac Institute in Bakersfield, California. He is board-certified in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also a fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society. Dr. Salvo completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He then received his Master's in Physiology & Biophysics from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. Dr. Salvo completed his internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA. He then completed a fellowship in Cardiology at UCLA and a fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, California.
Throughout his career, Dr. Salvo has held numerous leadership positions in both hospital and community settings. He has served as Chief of Staff at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital and Bakersfield Heart Hospital, Chief of Cardiology and Vascular Surgery. Currently, he directs the Cardiac Electrophysiology Lab at Bakersfield Memorial. In addition, he has been a member of the hospital's Cardiovascular Services Committee since 2010.
Dr. Salvo is a recognized leader in organized medicine. He currently serves on the statewide Board of Directors of the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California, representing more than 17,000 osteopathic physicians across the state. He is also a founding board member and former President of the Valley Integrated Provider Network (VIPN), where he helped lead a provider network of more than 850 clinicians, serving over 117,000 value-based lives in Kern County. Nationally, he has contributed to clinical research in electrophysiology and heart failure device therapy, participating in multiple multicenter trials.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Salvo serves on the Advisory Board of the Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation, helping steward one of America's most iconic sports landmarks, and has been an executive board member and physician advisor for the American Heart Association of Kern County since 2013. Fluent in Spanish and committed to both patient care and physician advocacy, Dr. Salvo continues to blend clinical expertise with leadership, education, and service to advance cardiovascular health and the osteopathic profession.
