J. Michael Wieting, DO, Med, FAOCPMR-D, FAOSMR

Dr. J. Michael Wieting is the Senior Associate Dean at Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee. He is also a professor of Physician Medicine and Rehabilitation and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. Dr. Wieting is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Osteopathic Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is also board-certified in Preventative Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Preventative Medicine and as a Medical Examiner by the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.

Dr. Wieting graduated from medical school with his Doctor of Osteopathy from Oklahoma State University – College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinics in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dr. Wieting then completed his fellowship in Electrodiagnosis and Sports Medicine at Michigan State University in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Division of Sports Medicine.

Dr. Wieting was named a Distinguished Fellow by the American Osteopathic College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2024. Dr. Wieting was named to the Lincoln Memorial University Professional Hall of Fame in 2024. He received the Distinguished Service Award from the American Osteopathic Association, House of Delegates, in 2022. In 2021, he received the Clark Award for Patient Advocacy from the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.

Dr. Wieting is a member of a number of professional associations, including the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, the American Medical Association Scope of Practice Partnership Steering Committee, the American Society of Osteopathic Medical Regulators, the Advocates for the American Osteopathic Association, and the Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, to name a few.
