Lori Langdon, MD, FAAP
Dr. Lori Langdon was born in Harnett County, North Carolina, and grew up between Coats and Benson on a hog and tobacco farm. She graduated from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham, North Carolina. Then she went to North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina, where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's in Zoology. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Langdon then completed her residency in Pediatrics at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. Dr. Langdon is board-certified in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.
She has practiced primary care pediatrics since 1998 and, in August of 2022, became the Clinical Chair of Pediatrics at the Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine. She enjoys giving pediatric lectures to medical students and teaching in the Clinical Skills Lab as well as the Sim Lab. She recruits pediatric preceptors throughout the state and is active in the NC Pediatric Society. She enjoys serving as the faculty advisor for the Peds Club, the Med/Peds Club, and the CMDA. She advises all the fourth-year medical students who are applying to pediatric residency programs. She is a national faculty member for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine for the NBOME.
In March of 2025, she transitioned to full-time at the medical school and became the director of the Health Center on the main campus. She continues seeing patients with an emphasis on adolescent medicine in her new population of college students.
She is currently the vice-chair of the Harnett County Board of Health, the medical director for Cypress View Children's Home, and serves on the board of the Harnett Health Foundation. She also serves as a medical liaison for the Human Donor Milk Program Initiative with the NC DHHS and on the Harnett County Opioid Task Force. She enjoys giving interviews with the local television news stations and is active on social media, including her YouTube channel, Doctor Langdon, is on Instagram, Facebook, and on TikTok, where she is known as kiddocontiktok. She has won "Best Pediatrician in Harnett County" for the last four years in a row. She and her husband, Mark, live on his family farm between Coats and Angier and are the proud parents of 6 children and grandparents of 3 (so far!).
Her autobiography, Doctors Work in Air Conditioning, was released on Amazon on February 4, 2025. She hopes it serves to shed light on ongoing healthcare disparities for children in rural areas, as well as the worsening pediatrician shortage in America. She is passionate about many things, including how wonderful vaccines are, adolescent mental health, child safety, foster care, breastfeeding, and trauma-informed care.
