Manida Wungjiranirun, MD


Dr. Manida Wungjiranirun is a native of Portland, Oregon. She specializes in caring for patients with liver disease and liver transplant recipients. Her area of interest is fatty liver disease. Dr. Wungjiranirun is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon. She is also a Transplant Hepatologist at OHSU. In addition, she is the Director of the Metabolic Dysfunction Associated Steatotic Liver Disease Program. She received her medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. She then completed her fellowship in Gastroenterology at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Wungjiranirun returned to the West Coast and completed her fellowship in Transplant Hepatology at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Wungjiranirun is board-certified in Obesity Medicine by the American Board of Obesity Medicine and also in Transplant Hepatology, Gastroenterology, and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Wungjiranirun's research interests include metabolic dysfunction-associated liver disease, improving disparities in liver disease care, and medical education. She's a member of a variety of professional societies, including the Global NASH Coalition, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease, and the Chronic Liver Disease Foundation, where she currently serves as an advisor.

Dr. Wungjiranirun enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going on long urban hikes, caring for plants, and traveling in her free time.
