Emily Redding, DO


Dr. Emily Redding was born in West Virginia. She received her undergraduate degree in pre-professional biology at Concord University in Athens, West Virginia, in 2000. Dr. Redding graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia, in 2005. She started out as a Surgical resident at St. John's Episcopal Hospital, South Shore, and then had an epiphany. She figured out she was more interested in the continuity, holism, and osteopathic practices and principles inherent to Family Medicine. She transferred to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center (NL EMMC) in Bangor, Maine, where she completed her residency in Family Medicine in 2009. Then she completed her Plus One residency in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine in 2010 at NL EMMC. Since 2010, Dr. Redding has worked as an attending in the NL EMMC Family Medicine and ONMM residencies. She is the Northern Light EMMC ONMM3 Residency Director, faculty in the NL EMMC Family Medicine Residency Program, and one of the team physicians at the University of Maine, Orono. Dr. Redding is board-certified in Family Medicine and OMT by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians and Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine.

Dr. Redding is a member of multiple professional associations, including the American Academy of Osteopathy, American Osteopathic Association, Maine Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and the Maine American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.

Dr. Redding lives in Bangor, Maine, with her husband, Dean, who is a hospitalist at NL EMMC, and their two cats. They have two adult children, Steffan and Aidan. Outside of medicine, she enjoys gardening, reading, and hiking in the beautiful Maine outdoors.
