The Missouri Osteopathic Annual Convention is sponsored by the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) and the William L. Wetzel Osteopathic Foundation. This is an in-person event held at the Special Olympics Missouri Training for Life Campus and the Courtyard by Marriott Jefferson City from April 24 to April 27, 2025. 

MAOPS members must log in to get the discounted member rate. If you need guest tickets for one or more of the luncheons, the party, or AMAOPS activities, please select these during registration.

If you have children ages 5-12 years old, we have an exciting day planned for them!  The Mini Med School offers an exciting, hands-on, STEM-based program for children ages 5-12, where they can explore the world of medicine and healthcare in a fun, interactive way. $10.00 per child. Jefferson City Scavenger Hunt Adventure: Saturday, 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm 
AMAOPS is sponsoring a Jefferson City Scavenger Hunt Adventure and invites you to bring your family for a fun afternoon! This scavenger hunt, hosted by Let’s Roam, is a race through Jefferson City while uncovering hidden secrets and must-see sights.  Along the way, solve riddles, answer trivia, complete challenges, and snap hilarious photos for a one-of-a-kind adventure.  Compete for amazing prizes, including the Grand Prize of $1,000, to the highest-scoring team!  This fun-filled hunt is more than just a game – it’s a chance to connect with your team and explore the city like never before!  Be sure to register early so you don’t miss out!

Thomas Berkbigler, DO's Profile

Thomas Berkbigler, DO Related Seminars and Products


Dr. Thomas Berkbigler is an Orthopedic Surgeon. He is a partner at MidWest Orthopedic Group in Farmington, Missouri. He has been in practice since 2013. He received his physical therapy education at Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri. He then completed his medical school training at A.T. Still University – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri, graduating in 2008. He completed his residency in Orthopedics at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Berkbigler is board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. Berkbigler practices general orthopedics with an emphasis on upper extremity. He specializes in sports medicine, joint replacement, upper extremity, and arthroscopic surgery. He performs a good deal of minimally invasive procedures in his office, including ultrasound trigger finger and carpal tunnel release.

Dr. Berkbigler has a passion for woodworking. He has three children, one in college and two in middle school. He enjoys exercising and working out with his sons.

Devvrat Bhakta, OMS II's Profile

Devvrat Bhakta is an OMS III student at Kansas City University-Kansas City campus. He is currently completing a rotation in Neuro IR at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He will soon be starting his next rotation in Pediatrics at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri. Devvrat grew up in Liberal, a small town in southwestern Kansas. He completed his undergrad at UMKC with a major in Biology with minors in Chemistry, Economics, and Business Administration. He then completed his Master of Business Administration at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. By the end of his time at KCU-KC, he hopes to have received his DO, MPH, and MBA. He is currently working on his Public Health Certificate/Masters of Public Health at the University of Nebraska - Medical Center (UNMC), Omaha, Nebraska.

Devvrat previously worked as a teaching assistant in the anatomy lab at KCU and as a critical care lab technician at Children's Mercy Hospital, Adele Hall Campus. Devvrat hopes to go into Psychiatry eventually, but his interests also lie in Neurology. His end goal is to create his own private practice that is set up as a worker cooperative in the realm of mental healthcare to lead towards better outcomes for patients and healthcare workers.

Outside of academics, Devvrat enjoys reading, producing music, and writing scripts.

Cassandra Blau, OMS II's Profile

Cassandra Blau is a second-year medical student at Kansas City University-Joplin. She serves as Vice President of the Fit Doctors Association, where she helps organize mindfulness events, a running club, and nutrition-based volunteering opportunities. She also enjoys supporting fellow students as a mentor and volunteering as an instructor for an adaptive exercise class. Cassandra is also a mentor for the KCU Peer Assisted Student Success Mentor Program, where she helps support first-year medical student's transition to medical school.

Before medical school, Cassandra attended Davidson College in North Carolina, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2023. She was a scholar-athlete, competing as a sprinter and serving as a team captain for the Women's Track and Field team. Additionally, she held leadership roles in Davidson Dharma, where she promoted meditation and mindfulness.

Originally from Durango, Colorado, Cassandra grew up with her parents and younger brother, spending time exploring the outdoors through skiing, paddleboarding, hiking, and camping. Outside of medical school, she enjoys baking, traveling, running, meditating, and playing soccer with other medical students.

Olivia Collier, OMS II's Profile

Olivia Collier is a second-year medical student at A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri. She was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and has two younger sisters. After completing high school at Cor Jesu Academy, she attended Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Biology and Psychology. While at Rockhurst, she played on the Women's Lacrosse team. She was a captain during her senior year.

After graduating college, she took two gap years before matriculating to medical school. During this time, she worked as a medical scribe in the emergency department of a rural hospital outside of St. Louis, as a high school lacrosse assistant coach, and as a volunteer at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. She also took time during these gap years to travel. In July of 2022, she did a road trip out West and visited ten different National Parks, camping along the way. Then, in April of 2023, she backpacked across Europe, visiting ten countries and sixteen cities.

Since matriculating to ATSU-KCOM, she has been able to continue traveling by taking part in a Medical Mission Trip to Uganda, Africa, in March 2024. This year, she will be traveling to Vietnam for another Medical Mission Trip during spring break. Not only has she continued traveling, but she has also been able to continue playing sports. She is the Co-Chair for Intramurals and organizes all of the intramural sports. In addition to traveling and playing sports, she also started kickboxing at a local Jiu-Jitsu gym. She has been able to continue serving the community by partaking in various service activities, mainly through her role as the Vice President of the nationally recognized service fraternity, Sigma Sigma Phi, Alpha Chapter.

Ben Cook, DO's Profile

Dr. Ben Cook is a Family Medicine physician at the Jefferson City Medical Group (JCMG) in Jefferson City, Missouri. He completed his bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. He then completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medical Degree at A.T. Still University – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Cook completed his Family Medicine residency and his General Surgery/ENT internship at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He is board-certified in Obesity Medicine by the American Board of Obesity Medicine.

Dr. Cook has dedicated his life to serving and helping others, whether earning his Eagle Scout badge with the Boy Scouts, volunteering at church, or conducting medical missions in Nicaragua. He is a dedicated physician who strives to develop personal medical care for each of his patients. Dr. Cook is a member of the Obesity Medicine Association, the American Association of Family Practice, the American Medical Association, and the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Cooks is also very involved with Special Olympics Missouri and is currently on their Board of Directors. He received the Golisano Health Leadership Award in 2023 from Special Olympics Missouri.

Dr. Cook is from Rolla, Missouri, and enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, biking, running, and camping. He spends his free time with his family, playing games or working on the family farm.

Jeffrey Davis, DO's Profile

Dr. Jeffrey Davis is board-certified in Osteopathic Family Medicine and OMT by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. He is an American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Certified Medical Director. He serves as the Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs and an Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at A.T. Still University - Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri.

Dr. Davis has been an active member of the osteopathic profession throughout his training and career. He was selected as a Wetzel Scholar by the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) in 1998 while an osteopathic medical student at A.T. Still University - Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine where he received his DO degree in 2000. Dr. Davis completed an American Osteopathic Association (AOA)-approved Family Medicine residency through Southern Illinois University Quincy Family Practice at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois, in 2003.

Throughout his tenure as a physician, he has served on every MAOPS committee. He served on the MAOPS Executive Committee for 5 years, from 2014-2019, being elected as MAOPS President in 2017. In 2020, he was chosen by his peers as Missouri's Osteopathic Physician of the Year.  He has served as a Missouri delegate to the AOA's House of Delegates. As a past president, he is also currently a trustee on the MAOPS board and is the chair of their education committee. Dr. Davis was elected to the American Osteopathic Association to serve on the Board of Trustees in 2021 and continues to do so.

Professionally, Dr. Davis also serves as the Medical Director of two nursing homes, two ambulance districts, and two rural health clinics in Northeast Missouri. He was previously the Chief Medical Officer of Scotland County Hospital and Clinics as well as the Coroner of Scotland County, Missouri, from 2013 through 2024.

Dr. Davis enjoys living on a farm just outside of Memphis, Missouri, with his wife, Trinity. They have two grown daughters, Sadie and Clara. He enjoys farming, hunting, fishing, hiking, and cycling in his free time.

David Fanous, OMS II's Profile

David Fanous is a second-year medical student at Kansas City University-Kansas City campus, where he is currently doing work alongside the Della Lamb Refugee Resettlement Agency in assisting refugees to gain access to healthcare. This work is especially near to his heart, as his parents sought asylum from Egypt. David grew up in Bakersfield, California, and earned his bachelor's in Human Biology from California State University, in Bakersfield, California. During undergrad, he did research that focused on levels of physician efficiency in different central line placement locations (subclavian, IJUG, and femoral) in the emergency room. He also worked in a rehabilitation hospital as a medical scribe. David has been a Gross Anatomy teaching assistant at Kansas City University since last summer, helping first-year medical students in the cadaveric anatomy lab.

David is excited to share the amazing research his group has achieved. Over the summer, he started this program with two KCU med students. It has been incredible for them to see the lives they have changed and the impact that they have had. He is confident everyone will find their work impactful and inspiring.

Outside of school, he enjoys reading, doing yoga, traveling, hiking, and playing basketball.

Krinal Gandhi, OMS II's Profile

Krinal Gandhi is currently a second-year medical student at A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri. She was born and raised in India and moved to the United States about 11 years ago. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) in 2021 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science and Psychology. Her healthcare work experiences include being a medical assistant/front-desk worker at a Chiropractic clinic, and she was a scribe, a personal care aide, a private duty assistant, and a personalized living assistant at a senior living facility. These experiences provided her with opportunities to learn more about her interest in medicine. It also strengthened her passion to serve others by becoming a physician.

She is interested in providing primary care, particularly to underserved communities. She believes primary care will allow her to build a long-term, trustworthy, and professional relationship with patients. It will also help her understand the needs of the community. She is also interested in research because it will allow her to explore medicine from a different perspective and help her understand the importance that research has in the growth of the medical field.

In her free time, Krinal enjoys painting, drawing, arts and crafts, and spending time with her family.

Christeena Jojo, OMS II's Profile

Christeena Jojo is currently a second-year medical student at A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri. She is the first person in her family to pursue a career in medicine. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Madison, Wisconsin, earning a degree in Health Promotion and Health Equity with a minor in Global Health and Stem Cell Studies. Driven by a passion for improving health outcomes, Christeena spent a summer conducting research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Christeena is an open-minded student with diverse interests. She has developed a particular passion for both dermatology and radiation oncology. As she enters her second year of medical school and prepares for clinical rotations in Logan, Utah, she remains committed to advancing health equity, providing patient-centered care, and exploring her interests in these fields.

Aleesha Jones's Profile

Ms. Aleesha Jones serves as the Chief of the Office of Rural Health and Primary Care (ORHPC) for the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS), Division of Community and Public Health (DCPH). She is a recent graduate of the Missouri Leadership Academy. She graduated from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri, with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Marketing in 2006. She began her journey as a public servant with the Missouri Department of Social Services in 2007 and then joined the DHSS and DCPH in 2009, where she has served with the Bureau of Special Health Care Needs, WIC and Nutrition Services and currently with ORHPC. 

In her current role, she is responsible for providing leadership support to the State Office of Rural Health, the State Primary Care Office, and the Graduate Medical Education team. This includes the identification of program priorities, strategic planning, and performance management initiatives to identify and address communities with the greatest unmet healthcare needs, disparities, and health workforce shortages.

Ms. Jones serves on many public health and health workforce committees and work groups to maintain and foster the development of partnerships and collaborations with federal, state, and local agencies and additional stakeholders in an effort to share resources and increase access to care in Missouri. Aleesha is passionate about improving the lives of Missourians and working to create and improve programs and services to support their needs.

When she is not working to address healthcare access in Missouri, you will likely find her cheering on her children at their various sporting events: football, volleyball, baseball, dance, or soccer.

Larry Linthacum, PhD's Profile

Dr. Larry Linthacum is the President and CEO of Special Olympics Missouri. He is responsible for leading and managing 42 staff members statewide, developing and implementing strategic plans, and managing a large budget. He previously was the Superintendent of the Jefferson City Public Schools for seven years and has other administrative and teaching experience in other schools around the state of Missouri.

Dr. Linchacum received his bachelor's in Business Administration from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. He then completed his Masters in Education and his Educational Specialist at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. He received his Doctor of Education Leadership Development and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri.

Dr. Elizabeth Stover Lucore graduated from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Des Moines, Iowa, in 2008. She earned a dual degree, a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine, and a Master's degree in Public Health. She completed her residency in 2011 with the Cox Health Family Medicine Program in Springfield, Missouri, emphasizing full-scope surgical obstetrics and OMT.  Dr. Elizabeth is board-certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. She is also a board member of the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS), currently serving as Second Vice President and the Ozark District liaison. 

After 15 years at the Family Practice and Obstetrics clinic in Monett, Missouri, and over 1000 babies delivered at Cox Monett Hospital, Dr. Elizabeth recently moved back to Springfield to work at Jordan Valley FQHC.  She is currently serving as Medical Director of Jordan Valley Senior Care PACE, a very unique model of care specializing in all-inclusive care for persons over 55 who desire to age in place. As part of the Jordan Valley family medicine department, she was excited to start a minor procedure clinic and OMT clinic for residents at Jordan Valley. 

Dr. Elizabeth enjoys the broad spectrum of family medicine, from caring for mothers and newborns to elder end-of-life care. She welcomes the opportunity to host medical students and residents. Over the years, Dr. Elizabeth has discovered that the quest for balance is a daily decision—one most likely to be successful when she is fully present. Dr. Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor adventures, making music and practicing Spanish.

Nicholas Mayer, DO's Profile

Dr. Nicholas Mayer is a Nephrology Specialist in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from A.T. Still University – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri. Dr. Mayer completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Nephrology at St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. 

Dr. Mayer is actively involved in developing value-based care for the nephrology specialty through his work as a partner at St. Louis Kidney Care, a subsidiary of Fresenius Practice Services (FPS) in St. Louis, Missouri.  His work involves service as a medical director to FMC Acute Dialysis and a FMC Dialysis Unit in Normandy, a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. In addition to his work with patient care through his practice, in 2017, Dr. Mayer was appointed to the United Healthcare Physician Advisory Committee, which he continues to serve on. He has also been an advisor to the ESSENCE CKD Physician Advisory Committee since 2021. Dr. Mayer is a member of the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians & Surgeons (MAOPS) and serves on the Virtual CME Committee and the Convention Committee. He received the MAOPS District Leadership Award in 2019 and the Clinical Educator Award from FPS in 2023.  

Dr. Mayer is the father of three girls who do their best to keep him humble. He enjoys socializing in his free time when he isn't driving his daughters all over the city.

Megan McBride, DO, FAAP, FACOP's Profile

Megan McBride, DO, FAAP, FACOP Related Seminars and Products


Dr. Megan McBride was most recently a General Pediatrician at Mercy Clinic Pediatrics-Fenton in St. Louis, Missouri. She received her bachelor's in Biology with a minor in Philosophy from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. She graduated from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences - College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri, which is now known as Kansas City University – College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCU-COM). Dr. McBride completed her residency in Pediatrics at Children's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She is board-certified in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.

She has served as the chair of the Women Physician's Committee and is a Trustee. Dr. McBride is also the President of the St. Louis Osteopathic Association of Physicians and Surgeons. She has also served Kansas City University as Past President of the Alumni Association, and she was previously on the Board of Trustees from 2009-2013. She was also the Vice Chair of the Board and served on several committees.

Her professional interests include lifestyle medicine. Dr. Heidi Miller is the Chief Medical Officer of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS). She provides clinical and strategic input to all divisions of the DHSS while fortifying public health policies and programming across the state. Unifying and optimizing the integration of public health, population health, and healthcare delivery efforts have been her highest priorities. Focus areas include workforce development, graduate medical education, maternal health, access to care, state standing orders, public education, and emerging health issues.

Dr. Miller has maintained her primary care practice at a Federally Qualified Health Center called Family Care Health Centers in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Miller received her bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut in 1994. Dr. Miller then graduated from Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, in 2000. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine Primary Care at Harvard's Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Miller is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Miller has served as the Medical Director of the St. Louis Regional Health Commission and the St. Louis Integrated Health Network. Her honors include the Health Care Champion Award by Missouri Health Care for All, St. Louis 40 under 40, and inaugural induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Miller has devoted her career to supporting policies that foster holistic, integrated, team-based, equitable, trauma-informed, continuous, cost-effective, and compassionate care for our most disenfranchised patients while improving the public health of Missourians overall.

Senator Cindy O'Laughlin's Profile

Senator Cindy O'Lauglin is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia.She was elected senator in 2018 and again in 2022 to represent the 18th Senatorial District in Northwest Missouri. Her peers elected her to serve as the Majority Floor Leader in 2022, and she was the first female to hold this position in state history. She is credited with improving the efficiency of the Missouri Senate during her first year serving in that role. In January of 2025, she was the first female ever to be elected as the President Pro Tempore of the Missouri Senate. 

Prior to being elected to the Missouri Senate, Senator O'Laughlin served as a school bus driver, an administrator at a local Christian school, and as a member of her local school board. Senator O'Laughlin has served on numerous statewide boards, such as the Associated Builders and Contractors, the Children's Trust Fund, and the Missouri Club for Growth. She is currently a member of the National Rifle Association, the Missouri Cattlemen's Association, the Missouri Farm Bureau, and the Macon First Baptist Church.

In addition to her public service, Senator O'Laughlin is the former co-owner of Leo O'Laughlin, Inc., a trucking company and ready-mix concrete business with locations in Shelbina, Macon, Marceline, and LaBelle.

Senator O'Laughlin grew up on a farm and spent much of her childhood around horses, livestock auctions, and corn fields. Today, she's the proud owner of several dogs, including Basset Hounds, as well as several rescue dogs. Senator O'Laughlin is a current resident of Shelbina. She has four sons, a foster daughter, and seven grandchildren.

Chi Pham, OMS II's Profile

Chi Pham is a second-year medical student at Kansas City University-Joplin. She has demonstrated a continued interest in basic science and clinical research. She is a Vietnamese native and a graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville and majored in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.

Chi has experience working as a research assistant in a prokaryotic ribosome research lab as an intern and in a cancer center clinical trials office in her gap year. In the Summer of 2024, she worked on a project analyzing the effect of thrombocytopenia as a comorbidity on the length of hospital stay in pneumonia patients. She also worked on another project studying the association between the status of Pregnane X Receptor, a nuclear receptor regulating endo- and xenobiotic metabolism in eukaryotic cells, and cancer cell viability. Chi was also part of a research project investigating the gene expression regulation relationship between the trp and tna operons, two tryptophan metabolism operons in E. coli. She also authored a case report on the novel treatment of non-small cell lung cancer.

Outside of academic research, Chi is also the Co-President of the KCU Joplin Chapter of the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association. She is also an anatomy and clinical course tutor.

In her free time she enjoys reading, finding unique thrifts, watching football with her spouse, and exploring new Asian dishes.

Dr. Lashaunda P. Massey is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who has serviced clients in private practice for 13 years. She provides clinical services to children, adults, and families faced with the most challenging disorders and life circumstances.  Her work specializes in childhood clinical issues, abuse/neglect, and depression/anxiety disorders. She is also a Clinical Psychologist for Baptist Health Sciences University College of Osteopathic Medicine (BUCOM) in Memphis, Tennessee, where she provides individual clinical therapy services for medical students, including interventions relative to personal development. In addition, she designs curriculum enhancement programming that focuses on mental wellness and personal and professional development. She is also a member of the University Behavioral Intervention Team and Student Progress Committee.

Dr. Massey worked diligently to prepare for success in this professional career.  After graduating valedictorian from high school in 1991, Dr. Massey obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She graduated with honors from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois with a Master of Arts in Psychology and then with her Doctor of Philosophy. Dr. Massey completed her doctoral internship through the University of Tennessee Psychology Consortium and was licensed as a Clinical Psychologist by the state of Tennessee in 2001. Through her private practice, Dr. Massey has provided internships for college students aspiring to enter the field of psychology.

Dr. Massey is on the Board of Directors and is part of the Executive Committee for Special Olympics Tennessee. She is also on the Board of Directors for the Special Olympics of Greater Memphis. Dr. Massey received the Midsouth Chapter Woman of Impact Award from the American Heart Association in January of 2022. In 2017, she received the Doctor of the Year Award from the National Coalition of 100 Black Women-Memphis Chapter and received the Tri-State Defender Woman of Excellence Award.

Dr. Tracy Stroud has been a Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician practicing at the Thompson Center at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, since 2000 and at the Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment since its inception in 2005. She coordinates the NICU follow-up, Cerebral Palsy, and Downs Syndrome multidisciplinary clinics at the Thompson Center. She is also a professor at the University of Missouri. Dr. Stroud completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Biology, and Psychology at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. She then attended medical school at Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downer's Grove, Illinois. Dr. Stroud completed her residency in Pediatrics at the University of Missouri Pediatrics in Columbia, Missouri. She is board-certified in General Pediatrics and Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. 

Dr. Stroud is interested in early childhood development and participates in community activities that support care systems for children and their families. She was appointed by the governor to the Missouri Early Childhood Advisory Board in 2022 and still serves on this board. She was also appointed and was a member of the Missouri First Steps State Interagency Coordinating Council from 2013 – 2022.

Dr. Stroud is a member of the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine, the Down Syndrome Medical Interest Group, and the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS). Hailey VanRonzelen is a third-year medical student at Kansas City University in Joplin, Missouri. She is expecting to graduate in May of 2026 with her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Master of Arts in Bioethics. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Nursing from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. She is a member of the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) and is a Wetzel Scholar. She attends all MAOPS Board of Trustees meetings, is active in the Young Physicians Network, and has helped plan the Missouri Osteopathic Annual Convention (MOAC). She is also a member of the Missouri State Medical Association (MSMA), where she is the Medical Student Section (MSS) Joplin Representative. She attends their membership committee meetings, attends their annual convention, and has helped establish a working relationship with MSMA and KCU-Joplin.

Hailey is part of the Kansas City University Internal Medicine Club, the Simulation Club, and the New Student Orientation. She worked at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, as a registered nurse and critical care Nurse in 2023 and 2024. Previously, she also worked as a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and Swedish Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Hailey is a Special Olympics volunteer and assists with the Healthy Athlete Program at events.

In her free time, Hailey likes reading, hiking, biking, cooking new foods, and trying out new workout classes.
