Aleesha Jones
Ms. Aleesha Jones serves as the Chief of the Office of Rural Health and Primary Care (ORHPC) for the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS), Division of Community and Public Health (DCPH). She is a recent graduate of the Missouri Leadership Academy. She graduated from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri, with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Marketing in 2006. She began her journey as a public servant with the Missouri Department of Social Services in 2007 and then joined the DHSS and DCPH in 2009, where she has served with the Bureau of Special Health Care Needs, WIC and Nutrition Services and currently with ORHPC.
In her current role, she is responsible for providing leadership support to the State Office of Rural Health, the State Primary Care Office, and the Graduate Medical Education team. This includes the identification of program priorities, strategic planning, and performance management initiatives to identify and address communities with the greatest unmet healthcare needs, disparities, and health workforce shortages.
Ms. Jones serves on many public health and health workforce committees and work groups to maintain and foster the development of partnerships and collaborations with federal, state, and local agencies and additional stakeholders in an effort to share resources and increase access to care in Missouri. Aleesha is passionate about improving the lives of Missourians and working to create and improve programs and services to support their needs.
When she is not working to address healthcare access in Missouri, you will likely find her cheering on her children at their various sporting events: football, volleyball, baseball, dance, or soccer.
