This lecture discusses the categorization of post-COVID-19 infection conditions in terms of how they overlap into effects of treatment, hospitalization, organ damage, and post-acute sequelae over time.
Objectives:
• Attendees will understand the categorization of post-COVID conditions into potentially overlapping spheres of effects of treatment/hospitalization, organ damage, and post-acute sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC/Long COVID)
• Attendees will understand the prevalence, time course, and prognosis of post-COVID conditions and symptoms
• Attendees will understand the proposed pathophysiologies of post-COVID organ damage and PASC (Long COVID)
• Attendees will be able to evaluate and initiate management for the post-COVID conditions afflicting their patients and family members

The Montana Osteopathic Medical Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of 1.75 AOA Category 1-A Credit(s) and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

Dr. Mike Geurin has been an academic family physician since 2007, when he joined the faculty of the Montana Family Medicine Residency in Billings, Montana. He is a clinical professor of family medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine, and adjunct clinical faculty for the Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine. He serves as the accreditation official for the MFMR family medicine residency and addiction medicine fellowship programs, and practices outpatient family medicine at Intermountain Health’s Broadwater Clinic in Billings. He is a frequent educational speaker in the areas of diabetes care, medical education and long COVID.
