This workshop focuses on the application of osteopathic principles in the clinical management of ankle sprains.
Education Objectives:
· Define ankle sprains and discuss current diagnostic criteria.
· Explain the pathophysiology, including the etiology, epidemiology, and risk factors for ankle sprains.
· Discuss the clinical manifestations and the physical examination findings for ankle sprains.
· Describe and administer the osteopathic manipulative treatment approach to the management of the patient with an ankle sprain and discuss the treatment goals of the various types of techniques.

The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. Osteopathic Grievance Policy:

Dr. Kevin Marberry is a practicing board-certified sports medicine orthopaedic surgeon in Kirksville, Missouri. He attended undergraduate and medical school at University of Missouri, completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at University of Missouri, and a sports medicine fellowship at Methodist Sports Medicine Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition to his clinical practice, he works as an associate professor of surgery at ATSU-KCOM. His clinical and research interests involve shoulder and knee injuries, the long-term outcomes of patients with these conditions, and the use of regenerative procedures and new medical technology in their management.
Dr. Marberry is board certified in sports medicine and orthopaedic surgery by American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS).

Dr. Esra Siddeek completed her undergraduate education at Colorado College with a degree in biochemistry and her medical school education at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. She is currently a resident physician at the Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine at the Still-OPTI/Northeast Regional Medical Center program in Kirksville, Missouri.
Dr. Siddeek has a special interest in sports medicine and would like to pursue a fellowship in the field after her residency training. Her interest in sports medicine can be attributed to her lifelong involvement in various sports including basketball and track and field. She is currently interested in weight/strength training and enjoys encouraging patients and colleagues to be physically active.

Karen Snider, DO, FAAO, FNAOME, is a professor at A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM). Dr. Snider is board certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. She earned her doctor of osteopathic medicine from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, and she completed her residency at Northeast Regional Medical Center. Dr. Snider has earned fellowship awards from the American Academy of Osteopathy and the National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators.
