OMT - Using Your Head

In this presentation, Dr. Joy will discuss OMT treatment options for the upper thoracic, cervical, and cranial areas. The basics of coding and billing of these techniques will also be discussed. 

Upon conclusion of this seminar, learners will…
•    review relevant anatomy/physiology of the head and neck region relating to pain processes from tension headache, TMD, and sinusitis.
•    review relevant diagnostic criteria of tension headache, TMD, and sinusitis.
•    review OMT techniques appropriate for the head and neck region.
•    develop technique processes to perform an effective and efficient physical exam and OMT.
•    develop an understanding in coding for manipulative techniques.

Accreditation Statement:
The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.  MAOPS designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A CME credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation.

The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

AMA (Allopathic) Credit Designation:
The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) designates this enduring activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Creditsä..  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Grievance Policy:
