Common Endocrine Conditions in Primary Care VOC25

Learning Objectives:
1) Learners will assess and identify the underlying mechanisms and pathophysiology of hyperparathyroidism, male hypogonadism, hypoglycemia, and adrenal nodules to provide a solid foundation for their clinical evaluation and management.
2) Learners will identify the key clinical features, diagnostic criteria, and appropriate laboratory and imaging tests necessary for accurately diagnosing endocrine disorders discussed.
3) Learners will analyze the evidence-based management and treatment options available for each of the disorders, including indications for medical treatment versus the need for surgical intervention, where applicable.
4) Learners will distinguish the potential complications and comorbidities associated with each disorder and how they impact overall patient management and treatment decisions.
5) Learners will gain a better understanding of the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in managing complex endocrine disorders and identify when to involve other specialties, such as surgeon or endocrinologist.
6) Learners will develop effective strategies for engaging and educating patients about their conditions, treatment options, and recommended lifestyle modifications to enhance adherence and improve health outcomes.
