Billing & Coding Beyond the Visit - Asynchronous Tasks and G221 VOC25


Learning Objectives:
➤ 1) Learners will be able to define asynchronous tasks and differentiate between various types of non-face-to-face visits, including telehealth consultations, remote patient monitoring, and electronic communications.
➤ 2) Learners will gain knowledge of the appropriate Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes and modifiers used for billing asynchronous tasks, as well as the specific documentation requirements associated with each code.
➤ 3) Learners will understand the essential elements of documentation required to support claims for non-face-to-face visits, ensuring compliance with payer requirements and minimizing the risk of claim denials.
➤ 4) Learners will be equipped to identify and differentiate among the billing policies and reimbursement structures of various payers (including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers) as they relate to asynchronous tasks.
 ➤ 5) Learners will be able to formulate actionable strategies to overcome identified challenges and gaps in billing for asynchronous tasks, promoting improved revenue cycle management and overall practice efficiency
 ➤ 6) Learners will become familiar with the legal and regulatory frameworks governing asynchronous billing, including patient consent, HIPAA compliance, and any relevant state-specific regulations.

AOA Grievance Policy:
